Monday 8th January will finish London men’s fashion week and on 12th January will start Milan men’s fashion week. It’s time to talk about new clothes for Fall/Winter 2018-2019. The most famous brands and the young stylist will present their creations to influence and innovate the season. Some confirms and a lot of surprises are on the way for two of the most important event for this beginning of the year.
From London arrived the key word for the British fashion show: creative diversity. The organizers presented the opening week, started yesterday, reminding how the city became the internationl hub for menswear thanks to the creativity. Supported by positives datas of the sector growth, +2,8%, they introduced the traditional and innovative proposal, combined by the brands on the stage.
Post-gender and transgender were the main themes treated by Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Jill Soloway. John Lawrence Sullivan showed angry models with black leather trousers, cowboy boots and rodeo jackets. Western style shirts with velvet and oversie suites were completing the proposal. Velvet clothes were also the leitmotiv of Oliver Spencer, meanwhile the Danish company Wood Wood borught on the stage the constructions site style with work jackets on gym suites.
In few days it will be Milan turn. To open the important event there will be Zegna on Friday evening. What is expected is the proposal coming from the brands that decided to unite men and women collections. Gucci and Missoni will present them during the female session, but next week there will be Dsquared 2. Caten brothers are investing on Milan fashion week for men, but it’s an example of what the stylists did in past weeks.
Most of the companies are going to present in the same moment the collections for men and woman and some of them are doing it just in few fashion shows, renouncing to some events. Before Milan, from 9th to 12th January, there will be Pitti Man in Florence. It will be showed the best of the industrial production for fashion. On the stage 1.245 brands, 45% from outside Italy, will present their creation for the Winter season. The 93rd edition will be dedicated to cinema, with ”Pitti Live Movie”. For the Italian fashion the next one will be an important week, not only for the planned activities, but also for the celebration of the economical results: the brands export growth by 3% in last year.
